Handle traumatic situations and be able to communicate information sensitively. There are people who are just downright upset with you for doing your job. Not regular folks, but the people who you have to take enforcement action against because you caught them in the act of committing a crime. You’ll receive training and support throughout your career to help you manage the demands of policing, but it’s important to be sure that becoming a police officer is right for you.
